Akwid
Akwid is a rap group comprised of brothers Sergio and Francisco.
They're the first act to achieve commercial success with an all-Spanish
album. Their Spanish raps are pretty cool, but they originally started
rapping in English. Every album they release seems
to be a type of experiment with different sounds. 'Proyecto Akwid'
is mostly pop, in a ways to prove how rap in Spanish can be marketable.
With their later releases, they have experimented with old-school samples
and a heavier 'banda' sound. Some of it has produced mixed results, but hopefully
they can continue doing what they do and elevate the game.
