DJ Payback Garcia – La Colonia Preview
By Ricardo | August 25, 2010
I guess Payback is coming out with a new CD. I really hope he comes out with some sick collabs this time around, usually his mixes are pretty weak with the features, the only good tracks are the the ones in the beginning. Still, that fool always comes out with the sick ass beats. Also, I couldn’t help but notice that when they’re listing all the artists, at about 1:24 it says “Criminal”. No mames buey! ORALE!!

Kinto Sol – ‘En Canda Rincon’ Video
By Ricardo | August 25, 2010
This single is off of the “Carcel de Suenos” album and I’m glad they made a video out of it. It’s one of my favorite tracks on the cd, the beat is chill and the lyrics are cool. Funny how they took the opportunity to showcase all the merchandise they have, in that sense they really are represented and are representing everywhere like they say. I’ve got a few KS shirts, time to expand my collection

UFC 118 – Couture vs Toney
By Ricardo | August 24, 2010
Here we go, the fight I’ve been waiting for and most looking forward too! Obviously anything can happen but there is nothing wrong with things going the way we all know they will: Couture kicking the shit out of Toney’s legs before going for the takedown, punishing for 2 rounds before the inevitable GnP TKO.
How else can it play out? There’s a good chance Toney can land a hard punch but not only is he betting for that hit, he’s also going to need to have Randy knocked out by it. If Randy goes to the ground dazed from it I still think there’s a good chance he can pull guard so that he can recover.

I’ve Got a New Laptop!
By Ricardo | August 23, 2010
YES! I’ve been working long hours and been busy on my off time and haven’t had a chance to sit at the desk and update the site. Something about sitting at a desk at home after sitting at a desk at work for 11 hours is very unappealing. Go figure. I hope to put this thing to use and be at the top of my game, I’ve been setting it up but once I get situated I’ma start posting shit like I’m getting paid for it.

UFC 118 – James Toney Video Blog
By Ricardo | August 23, 2010
Here’s a bunch of clips of James Toney doing some training and talking a gang of shit. Hey, at least the guy lost some weight.
I think the dude says some funny shit but it get irritating to see dumb asses like his barber talking shit like Randy will get his ass whooped. It’s like the joke stops and it makes you want to say “okay let’s be serious here…” Sorry Toney but you can’t win this one, maybe when you lose you can go on to Strikeforce and face Fedor.

UFC 118 – Randy Couture Interview
By Ricardo | August 15, 2010
Randy discusses Toney’s cockiness and/or arrogance of thinking he can defeat a top level mma fighter with pure boxing skills. As many fighters have said, it’s really difficult to implement the classic boxing stance in an mma fight. Your balance is off, leaving you open for takedowns and your lead leg is left exposed leaving it open for kicks. Once you change your stance to a more efficient mma stance then you are better prepared for any attack but the way you throw punches has to change.
There’s not many fighters I rather have face Toney than Randy Couture. To make a mockery of Toney you need a guy with decent standup, great wrestling, good cardio, and excellent game planning. Of course Brock would maul Toney but for some reason I have that fear that he’d get caught with a punch while trying to take him down. It’s Randy’s excellence of executing the perfect gameplan that gives me confidence in him knowing exactly what to do.

UFC 118 – James Toney Interview
By Ricardo | August 15, 2010
This is the first time I actually see Toney training… I still wanna see him grappling but I’ll wait on that. He’s throwing some good body shits there. I think that if Couture gets him with his dirty boxing then James will have a good shot for an uppercut.

UFC 117 – Dana White Post Event Interview
By Ricardo | August 10, 2010
Dana talks about how legendary the fight was and how much of a stud Chael Sonnen really is. Is he stoked about the results? YES!
It feels just like the Brock/Shane fight, except 4.5 rounds of domination. The fact that Silva found a way to win really does show the heart of a champion. He never gave up, he knew the sub was there the whole fight and he finally went for it.
As far as Silva holding the sub, he damn well should have. The stoppage seemed controversial so if the ref decided to let it keep going he could just squeeze harder.
For the rematch… Dana brings up a lot of good points. Dana is going to be out till 2011. Vitor Belfort is ready, SON!! I say have Chael fight someone else, if he wins then he gets another shot. In the meantime have Silva fight Belfort and see where that goes.
John Fitch does seem to not be ruling out the “not fight friends” BS when it comes to having the belt. I like how Dana goes off on this subject, it really is stupid. It’s a fucking job and there are hella fighters that say they don’t need to hate a fighter just to fight them. There are those that need a reason to hate the other guy just to step in there but for the most part every dude is professional. It just seems that the friends BS is something of a crutch the weaker guy would hold on to. If Fitch feels like he can take on Kos because of what he’s seen in the gym, he’d be more likely to take on that fight and if Kos thinks he’ll lose to him then he’ll play the friend card. These training camps are getting so popular that they are breeding a lot of popular fighters, they have to recognize that they will eventually have to fight eachother. The Brazilians do the same thing but at least they have the common sense to stick to different weight classes. Example: Big Nog has HW and Lil’ Nog has LHW. Anderson Silva wants to stay away from 205 as long as Machida is up in the mix for the championship.
I also like how Dana has done a 180 about Roy. One of the cool things about White is that he has no problem eating his words, he did it with Kimbo and has now done it with Nelson. Of course you could say that once he has these guys under his grip he’ll try to sell them but the big argument against that is that he cut Kimbo with the quickness when we all saw he was a scrub with no hope. Sure he could have kept him around to fight 3rd tier HWs but that’s not what he wants for the UFC; first and foremost comes integrity and I respect him more for that.
